Child Discipleship Pathway

Discipleship is a long word for a simple process. Child discipleship is intentionally removing things from a child’s life that pull him/her away from being a disciple and adding things in that equip him/her to be an active disciple. As parents, you've been blessed to lead this process!

But you aren't alone. GBC can help equip your family for discipleship. This pathway serves as a guide for parents & grandparents to help little ones grow as disciples of Jesus. GBC believes a disciple should Grow, Belong, and Engage.  In other words, children need to Learn it, See it, and Do it.

We invite you to learn more about your role as a child discipler. The Follow Me magazine will lay the foundation for child discipleship needed to begin using the resources found in the pathway.  Click the button below to get started!

GROW

They need to LEARN it.  Are your kids growing in knowledge OF and relationship WITH God?

  • How are you modeling spiritual practices or rhythms by seeking God as a family?
  • Are your kids developing their own spiritual disciplines?
  • How is your child growing in their knowledge of who God is and who they are?
  • How are you developing a Biblical Worldview in your child?
  • What are areas you can lead your child to Jesus for healing and growth?

Belong

They need to SEE it. Does your child have a sense of belonging at home and church where they can see other disciples and be discipled?

  • Has your child surrendered to Christ?
  • Do you know how to recognize the work of the Holy Spirit in your child's life?
  • Does your child feel loved and accepted for who they are?
  • Aside from you as parents, who is partnering with your child as they follow Christ?
  • How is your child doing life with other believers his/her age?
  • How are you holding your child accountable as a disciple?

- John Evans
- Greg Smith

Engage

They need to DO it.  Is your child engaging others with the gospel as they live as an active disciple?

  • How can your family be generous with the resources God has given you in a way that allows your chid to participate?
  • How is your child using their gifts to serve those in your home and the GBC body?
  • Where has God placed your family and your child to serve and tell others about him?
  • Does your child know how to effectively share their faith?
