Discipleship in GBC KIDS on Mondays

Rather than just teaching kids what a disciple looks like,  we want to equip them to live out four areas of discipleship.  Mondays in GBC KIDS are designed to walk your kids through each of these four areas:

GROW

Grow in knowledge  of  and relationship with God
Your child will learn how to make their relationship with Christ a priority which then supplies everything they need for ministry to others.
Practicing daily spiritual disciplines at home will sustain your child's faith during difficult times as they move into middle school.

BELONG

Belong to a community of believers
We are called to do discipleship alongside other believers.  Small discipleship groups bring your kids into a mentor relationship with another teen/adult who (along with their parents) walks with them and encourages them on their discipleship journey.

ENGAGE

Engage spiritual gifts to equip the church body
Kids don't have a junior Holy Spirit.  As a part of the church body, your kids are encouraged and trained to use their spiritual gifts to equip our church for ministry.

ENGAGE

Engage the spiritual gifts to bring the gospel beyond church & home
Every believer is called to make disciples.  Kids have a unique ability to reach others with the gospel.  "Peer evangelism among young children--one kid leading another kid to the foot of the Cross for a life-changing encounter with Jesus--is one of the most prolific and effective means of evangelism in the nation." (George Barna)

Upcoming Events

2023-2024

Parents

You are the key ingredient in child discipleship!

You have 80% of the influence in your child's life.
In addition, the church has 150 hours per year with a child while parents have up to 3,000 hours a year.

Mondays in GBC KIDS are designed to equip you to disciple your kids through Bible reading, prayer, and parent talks.  We will give you the tools and the training!  In addition, your child will have a teen or adult who walks alongside them in that discipleship process.
We will also provide opportunities and training for your child to serve and take the Gospel to those around them.

Cubbies

Kids ages 3-5 will learn basic truths about God, Jesus, and Salvation through handbooks, memory verses, songs, crafts and more.

Sparks

Sparks ignites a child’s curiosity about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ.

Kids in K will meet in discipleship groups, play games, and begin to explore various ways to engage their gifts in serving. During the week they will be discipled through Bible memory and their workbooks.

Nehemiah Kids

Nehemiah Kids is a unique discipleship ministry for grades 1st-4th. Nehemiah was a cupbearer to the king in his day. His service developed him into a leader over the people of Israel. Children in N.K. develop a servant leaders heart.

Kids in NK will be discipled through devotionals, Bible memory, discipleship groups, ministry training, and worship.  They will be given platforms from which to engage their spiritual gifts in our church and out in the community.

Leaders in Training

Preteens are at a heightened level of spiritual awareness, and are ready to do big things for a big God.  LIT's move from disciples to disciple-makers.

We don't want to sit them in a classroom and only give them knowledge about the Bible. We want the Word of God to come alive in their lives through discipleship and active ministry involvement.

Kids, 5th-6th grade will be discipled through devotionals, Bible memory, discipleship groups, ministry training, and worship.  They will be given platforms from which to engage their spiritual gifts in our church and out in the community.
