Before answering these questions, take some time to read the passage from the sermon together or on your own.
What did this sermon tell us about God?
What did this sermon tell us about us as people?
What did you hear in this sermon that applied the most to your own life?
If everything we have ultimately belongs to the Lord, how should that change the way we think about what we possess? Consider your money, time, possessions, abilities, home, career, and relationships. Where do you most naturally think, “This is mine, and I get to do whatever I want with it”?
Where is God asking you to trust him with what he has given you? Is there an area where fear of not having enough is causing you to hold tightly to what you have? What would it look like to believe that the God who owns everything will provide for you?
What is one specific way you could steward or generously release something God has entrusted to you this week? Think concretely: Is there something you need to use more faithfully, stop pursuing, share with someone, give away, or make available for someone else’s good? What would taking that step look like?
