Director of Student Ministry

Job Description

Our mission at Georgetown Bible Church (GBC) is to exist to glorify God by living like Jesus, boldly sharing the gospel, and encouraging life transformation through biblical discipleship. We have established five core values that help us achieve this mission: unceasing prayer, unapologetic proclamation, undeserved grace, unashamed adoration, and unafraid witness. We are looking for someone who is excited about this mission to join our staff as a Director of Student Ministry.

Primary Responsibilities

Student Ministry

  • Lead 6th-12th grade students at weekly gatherings, events and retreats
  • Foster growth in the students of their knowledge and affection for Jesus
  • Encourage a culture of service, leadership, growth, and utilization of God's gifts to prepare the students for the future
  • Disciple the volunteer student ministry staff, parents and students to grow their own personal relationship with Jesus by equipping, empowering, and encouraging them

Missions/Events

  • Plan frequent local community events for students to lead, structured to allow Jesus to be seen through the serving of others
  • Provide opportunities for student-led mission trips, abroad and domestic, creating a challenging environment to grow and use their gifts
  • Collaborate with our other ministry leaders to provide the best opportunities for students to have a lifelong ministry for Jesus

Other Responsibilities

  • Present and maintain an annual budget
  • Attend necessary meetings for administration purposes (i.e. council meetings, youth meetings)
  • Participate in the health and care of the entire church family (i.e. hospital visitation, emergencies, on-call weekends)
  • Seek personal growth opportunities to maintain an understanding of current discipleship strategies that are relevant to the culture of our students
  • Other tasks may be requested in line with spiritual and educational gifting
